INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

PART NUMBER: SA-FUS-MIL

FOR: 2006 + Ford Fusion

         2006 + Mercury Milan

INSTALLATION PACKAGE INCLUDES:

A)      Alcohol Wipes

B)      Pro-Bond Adhesive Promoter (crush swab)

C)      Instruction Sheet

 

PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE BEGINNING INSTALLATION

 

1.         CLEAN AND PREP

            For proper installation of Sportwing®, clean the surface where the Sportwing® is to be installed using the alcohol pads enclosed.  Wipe off any excess residue with a clean cloth.

 

2.         INSTALLATION

            When cooler temperatures prevail, make sure the Sportwing® is warm.  The recommended surface temperature of the vehicle should be at least 75°C/24°C for proper adhesion (NOTE:  we suggest using a heat gun or hair dryer to warm the surface of the vehicle and the Sportwing®).

 

3.         LOCATION

            See Diagram A below for measurements.  Leaving red plastic liner on bottom of mounting area, place the Sportwing® onto the rear edge of the deck lid.  Starting at approximately 1/8” from the outside edge as shown in Diagram A below, hold the Sportwing® in position and using a grease pencil, outline the Sportwing® as shown in Diagram B on back of sheet.  Doing this will allow you later in the installation to place the Sportwing® in the correct position (NOTE: the finished ends of the Sportwing® should be equal at each end of the deck lid).  Set the Sportwing® aside.

 

4.         Using Pro-Bond Adhesive Promoter provided, squeeze the tube at the location on tube (NOTE: crush at dot).  Allowing Pro-Bond to saturate cotton tip, apply a thin coat of Pro-Bond inside of the outline of the Sportwing® that you made in Step #3.  Be careful not to allow Pro-Bond to run below outlined area, Pro-Bond could dull paint surface.

 

5.         Remove the liner from the bottom of the Sportwing® and keeping fingers off adhesive mounting tape, lightly tack the Sportwing® onto the deck lid starting approximately 1/8” from outer edge of deck lid as shown in Diagram A below.  Continue following the outline of the deck lid.  When satisfied with installation, press into place with a soft cloth.
