PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE BEGINNING INSTALLATION

1.         Open trunk.  Remove trunk liner.  Next, remove the factory black plastic plugs from inside secondary panel of deck lid.  See Diagram A below.  Place a protective cover inside the trunk to capture any metal shavings.

2.         Close the trunk.  Measure down 9-3/8” from the front corner of the trunk lid where it meets the rear window glass and make a mark, see Diagram B on back of sheet.

3.         Line up the template provided with the edge of the trunk at the 9-3/8” mark, see Diagram B on back of sheet.

4.         Drill 1/8” holes through the three (3) fastening hole locations on the drivers’ side template.  Repeat this procedure on the passenger side using passenger side template (NOTE: when drilling these holes, we insist using a drill stopper to prevent from drilling into the rain channel.  Only extend drill bit ½” past drill stopper when drilling these holes).  Next, open the deck lid.  The 1/8” pilot holes that you made from the drivers and passenger side templates should be in the approximate center of each of the six (6) factory cut out holes of the secondary panel of deck lid.

5.         Close trunk and using a uni-bit (NOTE: we suggest using a uni-bit for a cleaner cut), you will need to open the six (6) 1/8” pilot holes that you made in Step #4 to 3/8”.  Apply touch up paint to the edges of the 3/8” holes.

6.         Using machine screw with lock washer and flat washer, and holding onto the Sportwing®, insert screw into one of the center most holes of the deck lid and up into the threaded sleeve of the Sportwing®.  Only tighten partially until all six (6) screws have been started (NOTE: if holes in deck lid do not align with threaded sleeves of Sportwing®, remove Sportwing® and open 3/8” holes to next size: 7/16”).  Tighten all screws evenly.  DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN.  Replace trunk liner and black factory caps that you removed in Step #1.

7.         Clean up any metal shavings that may have fallen into the trunk and you are done.  If you have any questions, problems or if you would like information about other quality Sportwing® products, please call the TOLL FREE number at the top of this sheet.  Thank you for choosing Dawn Enterprises Inc.
